Weekend!

Penguin!

It's Friday. For a short week, that was a long week.

No class tonight, so I did some exercising here after work. Seven minutes on the bag, then weights, then a round of stations. A good workout, and time-efficient, too. My wall chair is getting marginally better.

I'm making dinner tonight, so I need to find something easy and involving chicken. Sadly, Sedric's orange chicken recipe is ruled out due to lack of required ingredients (but that bad boy is going to be tried, oh yes, oh yes it will). Google will come to my aid. Ah, Google.

This weekend, we join Dougly and the Chinese Ball of Chaos for some beach time, followed by food and beer. Sweet, foamy beer.

My campaign to convince /dev/null to come over to the dark side continues.

Sarrazin and I ordered a bulk lot of magic cards today. I was going to contribute a fixed amount to the total (amount X), but we ended up ordering three sets of 700 cards and two of 1000. X is 1/3 of Y, the total, but you'll notice that 4100 cards doesn't evenly divide into thirds. So I figured I'd just bump up X to X+Z, where 1700/4100 = X+Z/Y, so I get one pack of 700 and one pack of 1000 and Sarrazin gets the other three packs, and we don't have to do any complicated sorting or dividing up. Easy enough, but I wasn't enthused about going over my budget, even though Z is a pretty small value.

Here's the thing, though. The other day, I looked up my paypal account, which I haven't even looked at for years. I'd mostly forgotten, but it happens to have a small amount of cash in it. As it happens, the amount left in that account is exactly Z (plus or minus a dime). So I can stay within budget by burning off money I didn't know I had.

Coincidence? I think not.

Ate lunch outside with Serdic and /dev/null. It was a nice day for it, but it was a little chillier than we're used to. When the sun got behind a cloud, it got a little cold, what with the wind and all. Autumn is coming. Time continues to accelerate at an unacceptable pace.

I'll have to have a word with Nature about that time thing.

That is a *huge* pile of cards. At present I have a little over five thousand cards in the collection, so this represents a not-insignificant boost to the overall numbers.
