Multimedia Tandoori

Status

It's the end of the week, Hallelujah. I'm still sane, although I have misgivings about some of my co-workers. Especially the Dutch Nasty, but since he is, after all, Dutch, it's sometimes hard to be sure.

Not having Serdic around makes for a quieter and less jolly office. We're looking forward to having him back.

Cards

Chicken

Last night we prepped for the Tandoori Chicken Barbeque tonight. When you make Tandoori chicken (as you may be aware, but probably aren't), you have to marinate the chicken in the Tandoori sauce for about a day. Prior to this, you need to take each piece of chicken and stab it repeatedly with a fork to create lots of little perforations through the skin and into the meat, all over. This allows the sauce to impart flavour all the way through the piece of chicken.

We're feeding eleven people. That's a shit-load of chicken to stab.

My lovely wife employed a variety of methods to secure the Tandoori sauce. As you'd imagine, sufficient sauce to immerse enough chicken for eleven people is a lot of sauce. She couldn't find enough of the jars of sauce we normally use, so she also included a jar of an alternate type, and a funky powdered Tandoori spice product which you mix with oil and yoghurt to produce the exact same sauce that you get in a jar.

It's possible I'm misspelling Tandoori. I'm too lazy to check. I like saying it, although it's a bit awkward to type. Interestingly, 'awkward' is itself rather awkward to type.

Meta-Blogging

RJA has had a blog for a significantly longer period of time than I have, but I'm on pace to equal his post count by the end of the year. I am a blogging whore.

/dev/null stole my title graphic. Shamelessly, I might add. Oh well.

Beta Blogger is fast. Updating used to sometimes take a while. Now, BOOM! Done.

Snakes on a Plane

Snakes on a Plane opens today. We had been talking about seeing it opening day, but I don't think that was going to work. We're going to wait for Serdic to come back so we can all go and see it together.
