Bozo the Clown has nothing on UPS.Whether or not we're sending the cards back is now up in the air, as apparently UPS wants to charge us even more to send them back. But, they can't tell us how much more, because that would require them to know their asshole from a hole in the ground. They have to contact the sender, fill him in on how much of a return fee their Wheel of Fortune game decided we need to pay, then let him tell us how much it'll cost so we can decide which fee we like less, and then we can tell UPS what to do.
They were also expecting us to give them a definite answer without knowing how much it would end up costing. 'Cause, you know, we can trust them, right?
This would all be so much easier if we could just send it back unconditionally and screw over the guy shipping the cards, but he's a decent guy who's already cut us a break or two, and neither of us are interested in leaving him holding the bag, as it were. The downside to doing business with decent people. If only he was a soulless monolithic corporation, this would be much more straightforward.
The consolation is that we're still getting a pretty good deal on the cards even with the UPS fee, it's just not as fantastic a deal as it was before. Still, though, it has to be said: UPS, you guys are a fucking clown show.
