Greek Fest

Last night we met up with The Greek and his Lovely Fiancee, and our friend the Rocket, for Greek Fest. For those who don't know, Greek Fest is a thing of beauty. There is Greek food, and Greek music, and beer, and dancing. It's awesome.

We met the Rocket's new girlfriend. She was warned that we would grill her for information, and that she would have a nickname assigned to her at some time during the night. I'm not sure if a nickname was actually produced, but for the purposes of this blog, for various reasons, I've decided she will be assigned the pseudonym TeamHooking. She endured the grilling with panache and danced up a storm with the Rocket during the dance competition (they were robbed).

I ate a stupid amount of food. I got a souvlaki wrap, and shared an order of salad and spanakopita with my lovely wife, who had a Moussaka. I also ended up eating some of the Greek's gyro and his lovely fiancee's chicken wrap, as they were both full (we got a lot of food). You wouldn't know it to look at me, but I am a famed eater. It was all ridiculously good. We had these little greek timbits for dessert (I can't remember the name), which were like pastry fried and coated in honey and brown sugar. Amazing.

I love Greek Fest.

Got the brother unit moved up yesterday. He ended up leaving some books in my house, which is fine because it's not like I could really get at them right now anyway. He has an awful lot of stuff. We gave him a big pile of "starter stuff" which we've recently replaced after getting married -- toaster, mixer, can opener, etc -- which should cut down on what he'll need to get himself.

RJA is back, full of tales of his adventures among the savages. He was here for roughly three and a half minutes by my watch before making his first uber-non-PC comment. I'm glad to see that he didn't get detained and extradited to some ungodly third-world hellhole while trying to cross the border.

Kung fu tonight.
