The Fourth Annual Fall Camping Expedition went very well, although (as I mentioned) it was a somewhat smaller group than expected, due to a number of last-minute cancellations. The final roster included Dougly and the CBC, M&L, TorontoKev and his sister NotMaryAnne, and my lovely wife and I.
Two new pieces of camping equipment were brought out. The first, our new fleece sheets, are the greatest invention in the history of people inventing things. Whereas any other set of sheets, however nice, would inevitably become clammy and damp, these were as warm and cozy at the end of the trip as they were at the beginning. Awesome.
The other was a new portable stove. We have a portable propane barbeque, which is good for some things, but not so good for others. The new one has both a burner and a grill/griddle, and at maximum generates roughly one and a half billion ETUs(*) each. Making Tim Horton's coffee fresh in the morning has never been so quick, or so stylish.
We had some laughs, went on a hike, and drank an entirely reasonable quantity of beer. The weather on Saturday was just about perfect and it wasn't too bad on Sunday either, if a bit gray and overcast in the morning.
Thanks to everyone involved for making it a great time out.
