Official Vacation Time

I am now on Official Vacation Time. Up until now, it's been weekend time, but now, people are at work and I'm not.

Last night we cooked up a large slab of roast beef and potatoes on the barbeque, and my lovely wife made Yorkshire Puddings and salad. Everything was amazing. The Yorkshire Puds were particularily awesome; they looked like they should be illustrating the Yorkshire Puds section of the cookbook, like they were uber-Puds.

We finished off Season 3 of The West Wing while we ate. That wasn't exactly as high-strung a finale as S1 or S2, but it was well written and well executed and I'm looking forward to season 4.

My lovely wife and I stopped by work to give the Dutch Nasty and his lovely wife their baby presents, the product of the pooled resources of RJA, Serdic, the Foran Object and ourselves. We got them a fall outfit and a winter outdoorswear set, pooh themed; a piggy bank; a horseshoe-shaped baby pillow (very cool), and a package of wipes (can't have too many of those). My lovely wife did an awesome job shopping for things that Peanut's beaming parents would need and like. We talked about the new Muis and had a good time. Congrats again to the proud parents.

While we were there, Foran Object recounted to RJA the sordid tale of our visit to Phnom Penh, and made clear in no uncertain terms that he holds RJA responsible for the spicy-level of our meals. Show off once, he figures, and the guys at Phnom Penh remember who you are. We're basically all going to pay for RJA's super spicy chicken adventure. Oh well, there are worse things (although my innards may disagree).

My package from Sentry Box arrived today. I'd thought that it wasn't coming today, since we got the mail mid-morning, but they dropped it off separately. My lovely wife picked it up at the door and told me that it wasn't for me, it was just a package for her from one of her clients; I fell for it completely. Sucker!

The cards are now sorted and entered into the spreadsheet. Most of the new cards are from the Coldsnap set. I'm planning on having at least two pure Coldsnap decks to go for next magic night; one is the Kjeldoran Cunning theme deck, which I got mostly because it has cool Ice Age cards reprinted in new frames, but the other is going to include a variety of nasty stuff from the boosters. There are at least a couple of cards in there that got a double take from me. Wild stuff.

On an administrative point, Sarrazin has needed a real alias on this blog, but didn't have one. This has recently been rectified. Henceforth, he will be referred to here as Optimist Prime.

Tonight, we visit the Chiropractor, and then Kung Fu. Tomorrow we do some shopping, postponed from this past weekend when I was sidelined due to Thai Chicken's Revenge. I'm taking my lovely wife to Pennington's and buying her some new clothes, just because she's awesome.

I like Official Vacation Time.
