Back In the Big City
I was tempted to head out earlier this morning but then I was even more tempted with the notion of a roast and yorkshire puds. If there's a way to say no to that, I haven't found it.
We left after dinner and arrived safe and sound a little after eight-thirty-ish. It's a little colder than K-town up here, and there's white stuff on the ground, but still quite mild (knock on wood).
So It's 2007
We've arrived upon that arbitrary artifact of our consensually agreed-upon calendar system, so now we all have to remember a new year to write on our cheques. So far I've only had to remember it once and I did okay.
I'm not a big one for resolutions. For us, the year-end is a time to reflect on what good things have come in the past year. 2006 wasn't always easy but it was filled with friends, loved ones and good times (and one hell of a wedding!), and that's something to be thankful for.
Here's to the year to come.
Maintenance
I've replaced last year's Maxim calendar with this year's Maxim calendar.
I need a haircut. Really, really need a haircut.
I have lots of new toys and I'm not sure how many of them I should take to work. For now I think I'll be conservative, but it's nice to know I've got options if the cube toy supply starts to go stale.
I have lots and lots of books to read. Once I get done with D-Day and Guns, Germs and Steel, I have a copy of The Selfish Gene I want to get into, and I think I may start on a new Terry Pratchett book on the fiction front.
I think the falcon-headed Jafar are the coolest. I'm not as much of a fan of the snake-headed ones. I don't remember what the jackal-headed ones look like since they were only in the movie and I haven't seen them on the TV show yet (only in S2), but I think the falcon-heads have a lock on first place at this point.
