Wolfgang's Birthday
All sorts of people coming for dinner to celebrate Wolfgang's birthday, which we're celebrating on Friday even though it's not actually until Sunday. There will be quesadillas and cake ... possibly boring cake, but cake regardless. I am quite looking forward to it.
Which Also Means
That I need to clean up the house.
The xmas tree is finally broken down, if not yet actually boxed up. The carpets are going to need a thorough vacuuming once that's done.
Robbie Burns Day
Today is the birthday of that great, perpetually drunken Scottish folk hero, Robbie Burns. To celebrate we went to the Glen for lunch (Serdic has a way with the girls at the Glen, you see, which is how we were able to get in on such an auspicious day).
They had a bagpiper and everything. Nice girl, although the pipes are a little loud when she's playing right next to your table.
Important note: having Haggis at the Glen will significantly delay the delivery time of your meal. Be sure to order extra beer so you're not left short.
Attention Jesus
The smell is caused by various sulfur-containing degradation products (e.g. thiols and thioesters).
