Your Mom

The Greek Is Awesome, That's Why

I'm getting a weight bench (for free, delivered). We think we've figured out a way to rearrange the furniture to give it a home. I'm psyched. Mad props to the Greek for giving it to me, and to my lovely wife for letting me re-arrange the family room to include a weight bench.

February Is Going to Rock
  • A new Magic card set (Planar Chaos)
  • A new Vampire card set (Sword of Caine)
  • The much-anticipated expansion for GalCiv2 (Dark Avatar)
Game Night, Improvised

Improvised game night tonight, due to Monday being a holiday and us being scattered to the four winds and thus unable to sit down and plan. Vampire is on the schedule and Null is bringing chicken wings (as you'd know if you read his blog, which you should).

I found an ebay store which sells Vampire card singles -- actually, I found two. One of them, though, sells crypt cards (ie, ones with vampires on them) in lots of 5-10. That's five to ten copies of the same vampire. I only can really use one or maybe two of each vamp, and I am far more interested in having a variety of different vampires than large numbers of fewer unique vampires; so that's not so useful.

The store that's more interesting has a large number of vamps, from some very old sets, at very reasonable prices. The pricey ones are a buck or two; many of them are 20 or 25 cents each. I put together a wish list of 70-80 vamps, which together would run me about $25. Nice.

Things Happening This Coming Week
  • A hockey game
  • A birthday
  • A Vampire night, with chicken wings
  • Kung Fu
  • Furniture Re-arranging
  • A new weight bench (!)
  • An order of Vampire cards arriving
  • Me getting a haircut
Blogging Evolution

I notice that I haven't been posting eye candy as much as I have in months past. I'll fix that.

The bullet points I've used above are quite handy. I might do more of that, but I'm concerned it'll lead to Blog Laziness.

In Other News ...

We got a catalogue of courses offered by local educational institutions for casual students (Learn to Cook Thai and things like that). Someone is actually offering a 6-hour course on Angelology. Learn about Angels, their history and abilities, and how to apply this knowledge in your life. Seriously, I'm not making this shit up. $45 a pop. This led to a reflection on how much money I could make without really working at it if only I was more willing to bilk stupid people out of their hard earned cash.

RJA then suggested that I teach a course on something I do know, which led to the notion of offering a course on Blogging. Now that, that I could do. I wonder how many people would pay $45 for a Blogging course?

There were some great ones there: "Getting the most out of dating", "make a raven out of wire", "fun, no-knit felting", and our personal favorite, "Introduction to TT touch therapy for pets". Remember kids, please bring a stuffed animal instead of a real pet.

I had my orientation lecture in Science Fiction (my chosen Gen ED this year) and it made me realize that you could have taught that class. My teacher hasn't even seen firefly. So maybe you should teach.

Still looks like its going to be a fun course.
