Update

Oh Noes!

Fear not, I haven't gone anywhere. My lack of blog-productivity has just been the result of a nasty head cold.

My lovely wife was out for a week and change with this thing, but by Wednesday was feeling better, so I thought I'd dodged a bullet. Not so much.

I'm feeling better now, thanks.

Vampire: The Punctuated

I've secured a significant collection of Vampire RPG publications in pdf format. I was basically interested in them as background material for the card game, to which I have become hopelessly addicted. I find that the contemporary version of the game is not as interesting to me as the Dark Ages one, set in the 13th century. That version is some cool stuff, let me tell you.

Luckily it worked out nicely that I had a big pile of stuff to read, just when I had nothing to do but lay in bed and alternately read and sleep.

Google Groups died for a big chunk of this week, which means I wasn't getting my VTES newsgroup fix. It's working again, praise Jebus.

DVDs

My lovely wife picked up a number of DVDs for le cheap. Last night we watched Madagascar, which wasn't bad. The penguins are awesome.

Since I'm a loyal Telus customer, and will be until the iPhone comes out in Canada on Rogers only, I get a special xmas-edition bonus from my cell provider. This time around I've opted for the $25 Amazon gift certificate (the other options were a set of chocolates, which my lovely wife passed on since you can't tell whether they'd be any good, and a $25 donation to charity, which, well, honestly). I've already put it to good use. For my birthday I received a slimline-case edition of Stargate S1; it will shortly be joined by S2 and S3.

We finished Stargate season 2, did I mention that? We did. The final episode wasn't so hot, frankly, especially compared to the S1 season ender. (Seriously, you're ending the season on a clip show?) But the season on the whole was extremely good. The penultimate episode, 1969, more than makes up for any failings in the final. Teal'c in that episode all by himself makes up for it.

We've moved on to Gray's Anatomy S2 and the 11 episodes of BSG 3 that Serdic kindly burned for us.

Climate Change

The above-average temperatures continue. I remain unimpressed by the climate change histrionics.
