It'll Grow Back, Right?

Wolfgang++;

The celebrations of Wolfgang's arrival at the big two-oh went well. It's always fun to get the gang together. Good times were had, my lovely wife made some awesome food, and Wolfgang loaded up on some good presents. Interestingly, a beer theme was arrived at, despite the absence of any arrangement of such. Great minds think alike!

The Weekend

The rest of the weekend passed adequately. I wasn't feeling super-hot for a lot of it, residuals of my more recent bout of illness no doubt.

I'm almost done Buffy season 2. Damn, that's some good televisioning.

My lovely wife and I are into season 2 of Corner Gas. It continues to rock.

More Recent Events

Managed to meet up with Mister Kent yesterday, with some hanging around and shooting the shit bracketing a trip out to eat. That was fun, and definitely something we need to do more of.

The Next Big Thing

I've been tinkering with a card game, mainly as a way to scratch an itch -- we have a few interesting CCGs that we play but unfortunately there are certain things that they all do, and certain areas of game play that they don't explore. I've come up with what I hope is an interesting game which goes places other CCGs don't, or if they do, only half-heartedly and poorly.

I'm making up decks for playtesting, using index cards. Unfortunately this is very tedious; lots of cutting, scribbling, more cutting, more scribbling.

I hope, once we get a chance to give all this a try, that it's worth the effort.

Wedding Bells

The sister-unit has picked a date. I am excited. Road trip!

Frigging Cold

The recent bout of warm weather in this part of the hemisphere, which has had all sorts of woolly-headed people proclaiming the imminence of Climate Change, is but a fond memory at this point. It's god damned cold out there. I wish it was a sign of climate change, I could get used to a compressed winter-weather season.

Environmentalists. Psssh.

Axis and Allies

Would you believe the local game store doesn't have a copy of Axis & Allies? They have a copy of four different A&A variant games (A&A Pacific, A&A Europe, A&A D-Day ...) but not the main game.

I am displeased by this turn of events.

I know I'm not one to talk, but I remember when I used to come to your blog at least once a day and it was always something new.

I really miss those days.
