A Blogging Milestone
This is blog post # 180! Woohoo!
What? Why do all the significant milestones have to be in base 10?
It's What's For Dinner
Last night my lovely wife went off to Kung Fu to learn of the Kubotan while I sat at home with a sinus headache, after-effects of my head cold. I made myself useful and made dinner. Some time back I posted a recipe for pesto chicken (it's in October if you want to go look). This time, since we were out of chicken, I did it with pork chops, with rice on the side. Cook the pork chops for 45 minutes instead of 20-25 and otherwise it's exactly the same.
Well, not quite the same. I only had 1 beer instead of 2. That could be because I'm running low on beer.
The Gift that Keeps On Giving
Izzy and Wing got me a selection of beers for xmas, none of which I can recall trying before. I've been getting into them recently. It really is a very thoughtful gift.
Last night was a Belgian white beer which was fairly Hoegaarden-like. Tonight is a Belgian honey beer called Babbar. It's interesting; sorta dark in colour, with a very heavy honey/corn syrup flavour to it, but lager consistency.
I love trying out new and bizarre beers.
Cue Ominous Music
Re: Kung Fu, apparently brown stripe is the rank at which they stop testing you on the stuff at your level, and start testing you on everything in the system up to your level. Stuff from White Sash on up is included in the brown stripe test, and it just gets worse from here.
Geekery
Our Jyhad box arrived. Serdic, Prime and myself each helped ourselves to 12 boosters of 13-year-old Jyhad cards, 19 per pack. I can't speak for them but I got everything I was looking for ... literally. I had a list of a dozen or so cards that I wanted and they were all in there.
The old cards have a noticeably different finish than the newer ones. More matte, not as glossy. They also seem to have a much higher frequency of Discipline cards.
I took apart the Toreador Celerity/Guns deck that cleaned up the table. A few bits of that went to tweak my Guruhi toolbox deck, which is now a svelte 90 cards + crypt. I've put together a Nosferatu deck in its stead, which does a little of everything. Not sure how well it'll work out, but I guess we'll see.
Serdic and Prime are having some fun with me and my must-open-packs-now tendency. Prime's only opened 2 packs so far and Serdic is sticking to a one-pack-a-day rate, just to drive me nuts.
In other news, I've found a workable set of drafting rules for Vampire. I didn't think it would be possible to draft with fewer than a dozen packs, but it turns out you sorta can. Interesting.
You Know What's Cool?
A first person shooter computer game about the Ghostbusters, that's what.
Battlestar Galactica
We watched episode 3.1 of BSG last night. My lovely wife was not as much of a fan of this episode, but I enjoyed it, with the caveat that they'd better dispose of the New Caprica thing in three or four episodes tops. I really enjoyed the dynamic of the show in seasons 1 and 2 and I'm not really keen on them changing things that fundamentally.
But so far, so good.
Mmmmm, KFC
The guys at the customer site my lovely wife has been at today ordered KFC for lunch. In a not unrelated development, we're having KFC for dinner.
Mmmmm, KFC.

Jesus, you're double what I'm at, and I have two blogs!
Hi Darklight,
The only approach that I know to get these beers involves befriending Izzy & Wing and then letting on that you like to try new and wierd beers.
This approach may not work for everyone.
Yes, and no. One of them is male, but is not single. They exist as a unified beer buying force, using their powers for evil only occasionally.
