Week Over

Status

The week is over. Let the weekend commence!

Kung Fu

Class tonight, plus basic sparring. I was doing some of my training today with a young man who just got his blue sash, who was, I suspect, a little surprised at the level of aggressiveness in the stuff we were working on. Some very cool stuff today. A good round of stations, too, though my wrist is still giving me some grief every now and then.

Reading

Working on a few different books, including Dawkins' new one. I think perhaps I shouldn't read that one right before bed, though, as it seems to get me worked up. A bunch of good quotes in there, though.

This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it.

- John Adams, a Founding Father and second President of the United States

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Musselmen [Muslims]; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan [Muslim] nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

- Treaty of Tripoli, written under the supervision of George Washington, 1797

Curling Extravaganza

This coming Monday, the lovely TeamHooking (who is a much trickier and more wily wrestler than most people likely give her credit for) will be joining my lovely wife on the curling sheets. The Rocket and I will be partaking of the frothy beverages and enjoying the show. I am seriously looking forward to this.

Eye Candy

French LeClercs in Lebanon, in lovely UN White.

Stargate

A company has announced that they are going to start making Jaffa in 28mm scale. This has some real potential. Minis for SG-1 (or other Stargate teams) shouldn't be hard to track down. Stargate skirmishes on the tabletop! Sign me up.

Now I just need to find one of these:

Yeah, that's a Stargate, made out of lego. The chevrons light up and it rotates under its own power.

Oh yeah.
