Game Night

Quick Summary

Xmas shopping has begun! I am seriously ahead of the game.

I was about to leave this morning when I realized that I needed to put out the garbage, something I had clean forgotten. Luckily I was able to get it together and out and still get in to work on time (a little early actually), but then I realized I hadn't eaten breakfast and had (in the rush) neglected to bring breakfast (I'd just brought my lunch). Fortunately the Dutch Nasty saved the day by generously donating a Golden Delicious apple, which was yummy.

Game Night

I've added a little thing over on my sidebar indicating when the next Game Night is happening and where.

Game Night was originally Magic Night but there has been some effort to make it more generic, and I think that's a good thing. So far we've expanded to also include the Battlestar Galactica CCG in addition to Magic, and more card games are in the works. Generally, when a new one is introduced, one or two people pick up the components needed for 2-4 players, so that adding a game doesn't necessarily require everybody who wishes to participate to shell out for new toys.

I'm optimistic that, in the future, we can expand to things beyond card games as well. I'm specifically thinking of miniatures games and board games, such as my Civilization board game, but I'm very open to suggestions.

In general, we have a small core of players who are regulars, and a small number of people who turn up now and again. If I like you enough to tell you where I live, then consider that a standing invitation. Generally you don't need to bring anything, we can supply you with what you need (if you're not already suitably equipped) and show you how to play.

Plus, there's beer!

That post title doesn't sound like a lyric, and it bears a startling amount of relevancy to the content. I thought you weren't doing that anymore?

I believe what I said was:

It's quite possible that I will sometimes choose titles to be reflective upon, and eerily accentuating of, the content of the post. Possible, but not likely.

Figures, as soon as I say it, I have a post with a clear and obvious title ...

How about multiplayer Civ on a LAN?

Sweet jebus, that would be sweet.

I think LAN-Civ would probably be better on a weekend, as game night is usually only 6-9 (ish). But I am all over an online multiplayer game or a LAN game.

How many people do we know who would be in for that?
