Wow, that was fun.
My lovely wife did an amazing job with dinner, despite an uncooperative turkey. We brought the table from her office up to the living room, and moved the kitchen table to be end-to-end with it. We weren't able to put together 13 chairs from our inventory but the Rocket came through for us. He's cool like that.
Dinner was fantastic and I do believe that nobody left hungry. Ice wine and pie (pumpkin or caramel apple) for dessert. Mmmm!
It was great to see everybody and meet a few new people, too. DiveBunny was able to bring the little one, henceforth to be known as BigHugs, who was the hit of the party. What a cutie. I think he found new best friends in the Rocket and TeamHooking.
My lovely wife put together little hallowe'en gift bags for everyone, with candy and a toy. BigHugs got a bigger Spiderman treat bag thing with a plush muppet in it. We gave Dougly a black rubber spider in his, so the CBC could enjoy it, and man, did that ever work out well.
Cleanup
The good thing is that we're pretty sure that every dish we own will have been washed by the time we're done.
Catching Up
It was great to see DiveBunny again; it's been way, way too long. The Rocket has a new motorcycle, which is red and shiny and very sexy. Wolfgang brought Mattrix and their friend A (for whom I'm still pondering a suitable pseudonym) and it was great to have them along. Fun tales were told of the CBC, reminding me again that I need to do up a CBC Lore post, for the benefit of all who may not have heard the tales whispered around campfires.
Stuff that Isn't Long Enough to Warrant Its Own Header
Izzy has committed to learning Cantonese by a certain date. I'd love to learn it, and this seems like a great opportunity, since I can practice with Izzy and talk to the CBC in it and she can laugh at me for my incomprehensibility. Now I just need to find a good instructional CD ...
Wolfgang seems a little reluctant to follow through on his commitment to watch the Ring with me. But he's interested in coming to the booster draft next Saturday, which would be awesome, so I guess that's ok.
Dougly picked up a copy of the Starship Troopers board game. The original one, from way back when. Too cool.
The Rocket is going to start a blog!
Witty Soubriquets
TeamHooking expressed a certain level of dissatisfaction with her pseudonym. The Greek has decided to call her Bubbles, which she finds more to her liking. The funny thing about all this is that, although I don't think TeamHooking knows it, the Greek hit on the name Bubbles after DiverG mentioned it, and he was talking about the Trailer Park Boys.

Bubbles.
Of course, the Greek (as far as I know) doesn't watch TPB, so he probably doesn't know who Bubbles is; I'm sure he just figured that it suited TeamHooking's personality (which it does). But that's what DiverG was talking about, and so when someone mentions Bubbles as a pseudonym, that's what pops into my head.
So I think we'll just stick with TeamHooking.
