The Week That Just Wouldn't End

Christ, that took a long time. This week has dragged. It hasn't been a hugely fun week, overall.

Although there have been a few things that turned out rather well along the way. There is that.

Novel Idea

I've often worked on a novel or two, over the years, but not very seriously. My definition of 'very seriously' being 'writing 1000 words a day, rain or shine, like it or not'.

I've been working on one very seriously for the past two weeks. It's making good progress; this is somewhat helped by the fact that it's been living in my head for years now and I'm rather familiar with the shape of it.

I don't think that I could realistically expect to shelve the whole high-tech thing and just write full time (although that would be nice). It certainly seems, though, like I would be able to produce novels at a reasonable pace while still holding down a day job. That looks like a pretty attractive notion.

Y'know, until I'm rich and famous enough to buy a yacht and just write all the time.

Ebay

Thus far: one lot of four Vampire booster packs; one box of an older Vampire expansion; a big pile of Conan CCG cards so I can give that a try. I'm also keeping my eye on another Vampire box, this one from the original Jyhad set.

I'm working hard to keep my fun new obsession within the domain of CCGs. Games like Vampire are fairly plentiful in supply and sufficiently off the beaten path that you can snipe things for very reasonable prices. There are also lots of very cool CCGs that came out during the Age of Unthinking CCG Enthusiasm, only to perish miserably, and are therefore available in positively stupid quantities for next to nothing.

Fun!

Movie Night

We're going to see Casino Royale tonight. Looking forward to that.

This Weekend

This weekend we're going to a hockey game on Saturday, courtesy of Dougly and the CBC (who are also, incidentally, giving us an extended loan of a bike machine). Prime is holding a St Paddy's Day party which we will put in an appearance at once our game is done.

Sunday, we're doing fuck all.

That Is All

Well, it is, you know.
