Emergency Management

Went home for lunch yesterday to find my lovely wife in a fair amount of pain. An emergency trip to the Chiropractor determined that two bones in her neck had locked up and she was having muscle spasms. He gave her three adjustments and recommended rest and ice. I don't know if I've mentioned it, but my Chiropractor rocks. No waiting to see him, he knows his stuff, and he gets results.

Unfortunately that meant no kung fu yesterday and I opted to pass on Clerks 2. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to class tonight, since I'll be camping Friday and Saturday. I floated the idea of the sibling units joining us (for camping, not kung fu) but they didn't take us up on it. Too bad; camping is fun, what with the beer and fire and relaxation, and nature in moderate portions.

Members of what passes for the government in Iraq are starting to talk seriously about a three-state-solution for the country's problems. I have a post on Lebanon ready to go, which I want to update following recent events which suggest that the IDF are not doing particularily well in the surface component of this war, and (surprise surprise) their faith in strategic air power has proven to be misplaced (as air power advocates have been learning to their shock since the inception of air power). I'll probably also write up something on the parition of Iraq and why it's not going to work, although I would imagine that a lot of that will be self-evident.

Our Prime Minister was reported as not being particularily interested in committing Canadian troops to a possible foreign intervention in Lebanon. I'm not a fan of his pro-Israeli stance to date, but this is a good move. Israel is starting to realize that their attacks on Lebanon have landed them in the soup, and that there aren't any good ways out of this; the best thing we can do is stay out of it and hope for the best.
