Gord de Weekend, Inventor of the Weekend

Happy Birthday Null

Tomorrow is Null's birthday. To celebrate, Serd and RJA and the Dutch Nasty and I took him out for Indian food, which was awesome although I ate too much.

Kung Fu

The whole class was sparring-drills. I am a sore unit. It'll be worse tomorrow.

Fun class though.

Beer

Beer is awesome. I just wanted to say that.

MapQuiz

MadHacktress figured it out. I am impressed.

Anyway, if you didn't notice and you're curious, the answer is in the comments.

Fun-K-Town

Serdic gets credit for the above sub-title, if credit is the correct word.

Going to Kingston this weekend. My uncle, who is normally stationed in NS, is going to be in town for training in advance of a future deployment to A-stan. We don't get to see him enough so we're going down to visit.

Sunday will be a condo-warming visit with Dougly and the CBC. Really looking forward to that.

Monday, I have off. I will be happily spending time with my lovely wife. There may even be a game of Pirates.

The Great Unamerican Novel

1/3 done by volume. The first pass, anyway; there's lots and lots of fun editing and rewriting after that.

I'm not sure how to pitch it to people. It's fantasy, sort of, just without bucolic agricultural scenes. And no royalty, princesses or otherwise. And no horses. And no dwarves or goblins, or elves, except possibly in the loosest possible sense.

I like to cite China Mieville as a spiritual predecessor of what I'm aiming for, although I can only aspire to his level of talent. Fewer cactus people though, and no Khepri at all, unfortunately.

Sleepy

It's been a busy week. Je suis le done, la.

Yes, I take full... er... responsibility for that!

Here's hoping your uncle has good, and returns safely back to his family.
