He's a Sailor, He's Just Looking For a Good Time

Long Week

It's only Tuesday and I feel like it's at least Wednesday, or possibly even Thursday. This is going to be a long week.

Yesterday and today, on account of the horribly cold weather, I've been wearing the fleece long johns that my lovely wife got me for xmas. I can't remember if I mentioned them already so it's possible I'm repeating myself and being boring, but that's part of my charm. Honest. Anyway, they're awesome. Very warm, and cozy, and yet they're not too warm when I'm at work, so I don't have to turn on the Lava Lamp or anything.

Kung Fu

Brown stripe test on Saturday. It's been bumped twice now, I'd really like to get it done.

Class tonight; weapons was all footwork and skipping which meant a brutal cardio workout. By the time class rolled around the tank was pretty much empty, but I got through it. My lovely wife had less fun, thanks to a poor partner, but we'll go over the stuff from class on our own time. Thanks to my lovely wife, I am well equipped with focus gloves and kicking pads.

Televisioning

Getting to the end of the first half of BSG 3. Loving it. Also listening to the podcasts for those episodes while walking to/from work; they are also great.

Also watching Grey's Anatomy, and the Foran Object is lending us seasons 2 and 3 of Corner Gas, which means we can watch them on the actual TV instead of my laptop, so that's cool.

I gave him Firefly. Apparently it went over well, given that he was told by Pigtails that he wasn't to come home without a copy of Serenity in hand, once they'd finished the season 1 box set.

Did I mention I'm still pissed they cancelled Firefly? I am.

Gaming, And A Question

Game night last night was fun, although Null had to pass and everybody bailed by 10, leading to my lovely wife sending sarcasm in our directions about how much we're all party animals. We got in three-ish games of Magic; oddly, my red burn deck sucked hard, but my white/green deck was able to recover nicely from a brutal early game mana screw to take the table.

I mentioned I've been working on a card game. Is there any interest in an overview of where I'm going with that, or would everyone just be bored and/or skip it?

Quote For Today

"I think that on the balance the moral influence of religion has been awful. With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil. But for good people to do evil -- that takes religion."

- Steven Weinberg (As quoted by Dawkins in The God Delusion)

I'm interested in your card game - though I'm leery that since you decide the rules, I'll never win :)

We should give it a play test sometime!
