Xmas Eve

Twas the Night Before Xmas

And my wrapping is done. The secret ninja missions are all complete.

All is in readiness!

We are having Crab and Steak for dinner tonight. My lovely wife is presently getting the feast ready for tomorrow.

(She asked me what veggies I wanted for tomorrow. I thought about it, and then said, Corn, and Brussel Sprouts, believe it or not -- I'm normally not a fan of the sprouts. I then noticed that she'd already drawn up a list with corn and sprouts as the veggies. Married person telepathy, represent!)

Things We Did Wrong (Vampire Edition)

Attention Serdic and Null! We did things slightly wrong regarding the voting.

Null: Plays a political action. Gets 1 vote from that action.

Serdic: Discards a political action card to get 1 vote.

Unbeknownst to Nail, but beknownst to us, there is a rule that you can't gain more than 1 vote from political action cards in a given referendum, and that counts the vote you get for free by playing the card to start the referendum. Null got 1 vote for playing the referendum card, and Serdic got 1 for burning a similar card, so neither of them can discard any more political cards to gain votes at this time. They must now look to titled vampires and other effects.

Nail, holding the Edge as the only person bleeding at that point, can burn the Edge to gain 1 vote. And if he held about four more Edges, that might mean something.

We did the Priscus votes correctly, however.

Also, a minion can carry out an Equip action to take equipment from a minion with the same controller as well as equipping from your hand. If the action is successful you may move any number of items of equipment from the equipped vampire to the vampire who carried out the action. Good to know.

In Other News

I won a game of Vampire on Thursday! I've never won one before. Usually I get my ass handed to me by Null, or stealth/bled to death by Serdic. It was with a Settite deck I put together at the last minute. In the following game, my Assamites got taken to the woodshed by the Serdic/Null Political Machine (see above).

Various people from work were over for drinks and good times on Friday. RJA waited three hours for chocolate milk (I am a poor host) and then downed the entire 1L carton that Prime brought him. Unsurprisingly, he was not in stellar form shortly thereafter.

Not that I can point fingers on that score.

Good times had by all.

That's About It

We're off to Kingston on the 28th. Until then we'll be hanging around home base, getting up to no end of trouble I'm sure. Blogging posts will probably be forthcoming until we head out, and be scarce thereafter, to the end of the year.

2007 is right around the corner. That sort of thing doesn't surprise me anymore. I'm getting blase in my old age.

That last e in blase should have an accent, but I'll be damned if I'm going to bother trying to get one from blogger. It's Xmas!

I always get the number wrong. It's almost a tradition at this point.
