Various Sundry Things

Thursday

Yesterday we went for our Chiro appointment, and then to the LicBo, where I picked up some MacEwan's Scottish Ale and my lovely wife found a funky metal-bracketed bottle of wine that she liked the looks of. Then Chapters, then my lovely wife treated us to Mexicali Rosa's for dinner.

We started with a really good shrimp entree. For the main course I accompanied by Rickard's Pale with drunken shrimp fajitas. I sorta expected them to skimp on the shrimp but holy cow, I had 5 fajitas stuffed to the gills. Felt like I was going to explode. It was awesome.

Friday

It was snowing when I left for work this morning. That turned quickly into freezing rain. They ended up letting us go at 3:30 because of the weather and the abominable state of the roads.

Don't have to tell me twice!

Ouch

My neck has been giving me some grief the past week. Consequence of the double-leg takedowns, I don't doubt.

This Weekend

Tomorrow is the company xmas party of one of my lovely wife's clients, and she sweet-talked them into inviting us. Dinner is at le Biftheque. Not too shabby! With luck, afterwards we might be able to hook up with the Greek and his lovely wife for drinks.

Other than that, the only real plan for this weekend is to put up the new xmas tree.

Television

Borrowed Stargate S2 from the folks, looking forward to starting that. My lovely wife has also expressed an interest in watching Band of Brothers again, although probably a little more occasionally than our standard rotation.

Serdic is graciously going to make BSG season 3 available to us as soon as it goes on hiatus. He's the man.

MacEwan's Scottish Ale

If there were any truth in advertising it would actually be called MacEwan's Sooper-Malty Black Stout, Now with Extra Malt.

A Question For the Readership

I've been soliciting opinions on the subject of FedEx. There's something I've been considering ordering from the United States and they only ship FedEx. After the UPS Incident I'm being extra cautious. If you have tales of shipping from the US to Canada via FedEx, please share them.

FedEx - no brokerage fees, but they always charge customs.
