Vision Quest

Preparations

I'm in the middle of my week off, pre-India. It has been tremendously relaxing.

So far we've spent a lot of time doing not much at all. We have done a bit of preparatory work, as well; I got a travel-sized webcam and some miscellaneous travel supplies. Today we went to the Works and got some excellent burgers. Tomorrow we're going to go look at the Cheo dream home. There will also have to be packing, but I have a pretty good handle on how that will shake out.

Travel

My travel itinerary is, at best, unpleasant. But then I don't think there's any easy way to travel halfway around the world, unless you can afford a private luxury jet, or you've invented a practical transporter and haven't let on.

I depart on Saturday afternoon. I get there ... later. There are many time zone changes and the rotation of the Earth to account for, it's quite confusing.

I have discussed the situation with people who have already gone. I feel reasonably well prepared, at least as well as one can be.

Next post will be from the sub-continent. I'm bringing my camera.

Hallowe'en
