On August 6 1945, Tsutomu Yamaguchi was in Hiroshima on business when the US air force dropped an atomic bomb on it. He survived and went home ... to Nagasaki, where he was on August 9, when it, too, was hit with an atomic bomb.

World's only double-atomic-bomb survivor, apparently.

Don't get stuck behind this guy in line, is all I'm saying.

I bought gas today. My car is all gassed up. This is kind of a big deal.

My lovely wife, I'm sure, thinks it's funny. I probably didn't help my case by pointing out that my mom is going to be proud of me.

But, she will be.

I struggled to explain role playing games to the CBC the other day. It was an interesting experience.

I'm eager for our Shadowrun game to get going. I have a fun and interesting character burning a hole in my pocket.

I took a look at the Conan RPG. Pros: Boobies. Cons: d20. I don't like d20 as a system and I think that would mean I'd have to buy some edition of D&D.

If I had my druthers, though, I'd run a Buffy RPG game. Holy shit, that would be awesome. I'd set it in the 1930s; part Indiana Jones, part High Road to China, but with Slayers and magic and Nazi vampires. It would be Legendary.

In other news, I've revamped my spaceship combat rules and come up with fleet lists for the Free Stars setting I keep tinkering with. I have pages of material for that background on my wiki page. I think the rules look pretty solid and should be fun to play. Now I just need to buy some ship minis, and also a starmat, and some new dice ... I've already made up a pile of counters for movement, fighters and missiles, which I'm going to laminate once I get to Staples to buy lamination sheets.

This all probably isn't healthy. I blame Jack.
