As you might know, my lovely wife has been out of commission this week. (She's feeling much better now. Thanks to everyone who called and/or expressed support and offered their help. You guys are awesome, across the board.)
One consequence of that is that I cooked more than usual this week. As long as I have an okay recipe, I'm in good shape. On the "learning about my limitations" front, I'm not in good shape if I don't have a recipe. No matter how simple and straight-forward the process, I need to see it before I start or I'll get into trouble.
Another consequence is that we watched a fair amount of TV. We burned through my first season DVDs of How I Met Your Mother. This could be the best show on television. Even leaving out Alison Hannigan. I mean, whoah. Love it.
In other news, I'm super psyched about the possibility of a Shadowrun campaign. Awesome.
Today is the day that we set our clocks back. It was still light out when we left work on Friday, and now we get to get up an hour earlier so that it can be dark again when we leave work. Not for the first time, allow me to restate my hostility towards farmers, the federal government, daylight savings time, and all who support it and give it comfort.
It was just starting to look like spring, too. I saw two motorcycles out yesterday. Half my lawn is uncovered by snow. Daylight savings time is like a brutal, disheartening, predictable and unavoidable setback in the war against winter. We were rallying, the enemy was in retreat, but the Feds have to cut our supply lines and let us get a whalloping. Thanks, feds.
Don't worry. We will persevere, and we shall prevail. Eat it, Winter.

Spring forward, fall back.

Shadowrun is going to be fun. Any ideas on when we're going to play? Saturday morning or like a early week night would work for me.
After work early in the week would be good for me. Tuesdays would be great.
Glad to hear the significant other is improving. enjoy your time in the kitchen - its fun!
I love it when we spring ahead. It's the surest sign of spring I know, and the extra light at the end of the day helps to improve my mood immensly.
There, I said it.
