The Greatest Love of All

Stargate

We've started watching season 3 of Stargate. So far I've been blown away. The writing is as much beyond season 2's writing as season 2 was beyond season 1. I also continue to be pleased by the degree of inventiveness and self-referentialism present on the show. Most excellent.

The New Fan

We bought a new fan at Costco. It's black and shaped like a long column, with vertically stacked cylindrical fans inside it. This gives it a much taller region of air movement than you'd get out of an old-school rotary fan. Also, it has a remote control. Being able to turn on the fan without having to get out of bed? Priceless.

Postcards From The Edge

I've been receiving text messages from the Greek during his vacation. It's fun to get a little glimpse into what he's up to, although that feeling is usually closely followed by envy (I wish I was on vacation) and then hunger (his messages have been known to cause lobster cravings).

Birthday Season

My lovely wife's birthday is tomorrow. I took it off work for just that reason. It's also the old man's birthday, and then the Greek is the day after.

We are going to have to get together for a celebratory beer, once he gets back from his jaunt to the coast.
