Friction Powered Bumpety Bump Action

Friday

Friday my lovely wife and I headed over to DiveBunny's place, for BigHugs' 2nd birthday. It was a good time, with a few familiar faces and a few new ones. The weather was just perfect.

We got him a dinosaur puzzle and a tractor. He really seemed to like them.

Saturday

Saturday started out with a trip to kung fu. We did breakfalls for most of the class, which my lovely wife hadn't done before; they're hard to learn because you inevitably end up doing it wrong the first few times, and since the idea is to fall without hurting yourself, you can imagine what happens when you do it wrong.

After the regular class was grappling; the class was just open grappling, which was fun if tiring. I thought I did ok. I probably need to learn to tap out when I'm running out of oxygen, though.

The afternoon was mostly consumed with cleaning and cooking in preparation for the arrival of Wolfgang and UnLeftyLawGirl. They were their usual charming selves; the Indian food prepared by my lovely wife was awesome; the Senators kicked all kinds of ass. Good time all around.

Sunday

Sunday was our Future Sight booster draft, put together by Prime, who also hosted and supplied prizes. I ended up drafting a very aggressive R/G deck. We played three rounds, so that all of the participants (Prime, myself, Mr. T and Kerry) played each other. I ended up winning all three of my games, each of them in very good time; my deck wasn't going to survive a long game so it's good that it worked well at ousting people quickly.

I got some nice cards in my prize booster.

After the tourney we played a few rounds of normal magic and then Mr. T cooked up steaks on the barbeque, supplied by his family farm, along with potatoes and carrots. We ate on the back patio, enjoying the marvelous weather.

Monday

Monday occurred on schedule, despite my hopes that possibly it wouldn't.
