On Sunday we went back to the airshow. It was gorgeous out and there was a whole lot of stuff in the sky. Stunt pilots; three Harvards doing precision flying; a Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang, Avenger, and a B-25; an Aurora; a CF-18 in 50th Anniversary of NORAD colours doing his full fancy routine.
The CF-18 also did a flypast in formation with a Harvard. That was cool.
They started off with the Skyhawk parachute team, who were awesome. To finish it off, the Snowbirds. They were, well, fucking amazing. As ever.
Outgoing CDS General Hillier was along for the ride in the co-pilot's seat of plane #1.
Just as it was wrapping up, the skies opened and the deluge began. Everybody took the shuttle-bus to get there so the lineup to go home was insanely long. Most of the people there ended up standing around in the pouring rain for basically its entire duration, and many of them didn't remember to bring their umbrellas.
We were soaked when we got home. Soaked, but happy.
Good times.
Today was a work day (technically). Tomorrow: Canada Day.
Status: Burned beyond recognition (toasty red! It's, like, patriotic!).
