Customer Service
The other day we stopped in at Home Outfitters (I might have the name wrong ... the one beside the pet store and future shop at the Centrum). My lovely wife spotted a patio swing and fell in love with it.
So, we decided to spring for it and put it on the balcony.
Just one catch. They only had the demo model left. They called around but nobody else had one either. So, we decided we'd take it, and they promised to take it apart and give us a call when it was ready.
The call comes and we go to pick it up, and it's not exactly apart, per se, in the strictest (actual) sense of the word. The canopy was in one piece, as was the entire bench/swing/seating section. No way that'll fit in our car.
Problem.
So I took apart the canopy and the employee who was helping us, by the name of Kimberly, made a number of trips to the back to try to find tools to disassemble the bench. No dice. Finally, after about a half hour, she asks where we live and then volunteers to just throw it in the back of her truck and drop it off at our place on her way home from work, in an hour or so.
It was actually raining like a bitch when she got to our place, but she cheerfully helped unload it and stow it in the garage anyway.
That is going above and beyond the call of duty.
So Many BTUs I Can't Even Tell You
Today after work, my lovely wife and I went to the Great Canadian Superstore and bought a PC 73,000 BTU double-lid barbeque. That's right, seventy three thousand BTUs. It's so pretty.
It's being delivered on Friday.
I also assembled the swing purchased earlier in this blog post.
Now, I'm having a beer.
