Wow, It's October
Scotchtober is upon us already, and I didn't see that coming. We have been blessed with a few really nice days lately, however, and I'm booking all the patio time I possibly can, while it is to be had.
One reason that the transition to October has seemed fairly abrupt has been job-switching, which occupies a lot of time and attention, but I'm sure a lot of it is just that I'm getting old.
(Getting?)
Kung Fu
Speaking of job-switching consumption of time, tonight was our first kung fu class in, like, three weeks. My lovely wife had a hard time of it (inept dentistry and a bad back did not mix well with kung fu). We had a sparring class afterwards which went pretty well for me -- I felt like I knew what was going on and that I had at least the opportunity to control what was going on. Sifu was very encouraging.
Sparring hasn't been something I have embraced with any particular enthusiasm, but it felt pretty good to be doing it tonight.
Oh Yeah
Did I mention I'm getting a work Crackberry? It's true.
K-Town
Off to Kingston this weekend, to spend Turkey Day with the folks. Also I will be meeting up with an old friend and having a beer or three.
The combined woes of Kingston -- inept government and hopelessly screwed transportation infrastructure -- is reaching new heights of insanity, even by Kingstonian standards. I'm not looking forward to experiencing it first hand, although I have doubts about whether we'll be able to avoid it.
Lunching
Friday lunch with my Partner in Crime seem to be becoming a weekly event. I consider this a very positive development.
You Know What Rocks?
Master of Orion 2, that's what.
MPP Voting in Ontario
Read. Just ... read. Oh yeah, and this too.
Moving Notes
We participated in the Serdic/Singer Moving Experience. Not a bad move by my standards, but then my standards for bad moves are things of myth and legend, spoken of over open fire in the blackest night by men of grim and foreboding presence. Then we were off to the Rocket's bachelor party, none of the events of which ... ever happened.
Jokes
Bonus points to anybody who read that last line and thought, hey, Red October.
