I bought a new computer. This may or may not be related to the fact that Civilization V is coming out on the 21st of September. It may or may not also be related to the fact that I can't load a web-page without my video stuttering like a short-bus student.
It should arrive on Tuesday. I'm very excited.
Video
Voyager sucks hard for all of season 1 and half of season 2. About halfway through season 2 it sucks less. It's still not great but it's watchable.
Games
I bought Cosmic Encounter and took it to game night. It's definitely in my top 10 list. It's seriously awesome.
I decided to get the expansion mostly because it gives you a sixth player, and that would have been very handy last game night. Of course, my local game store, if I can stretch the English language to the breaking point by describing it as such, doesn't have it. It's hard to find online; the usual suspects are all sold out or don't carry it. But I found a guy in Pennsylvania who is selling it on ebay for a few bucks more than the base price after shipping is added in. Score!
Also, there's a new Civilization board game coming out. It's by Fantasy Flight, which means it should be pretty awesome. I have the 2002 version of Civilization by Eagle Games, and it's a decent game, but it's huge. Like, eight hours to play huge. I might have to get the FF version if you can play it in a single evening.
News
I could write a whole post about how retarded the things in the news these days are, but nobody wants to read that. Suffice it to say: people are dumb. Especially the CBC.
Weekend
We're off to the in-laws' boat this weekend, for great drinking! Even if the weather is shitty, it'll still be awesome. I love long weekends.
