If The Party Of The First Part

Transportation

Our fine city's mass transportation system is conspiring to make our lives difficult.

For reasons incomprehensible to normal, rational and reasonable human beings, they (or, more precisely, their union) have decided to inconvenience everyone at the worst possible moment so they can squeeze out an extra little bit of our ever-increasing taxes.

As I (along with so many others) rely upon the bus to get to work, this is a problem.

Fortunately, my manager (a kind-hearted and generous soul) is very open to the notion of my working from home. Unfortunately, my lovely wife is going to bear a disproportional amount of the inconvenience, being as she is a necessary element in using a car to take the place of the bus.

It is, obviously, mostly my own fault for not passing my test yet, but that doesn't mean I'm not incredibly pissed at the drivers, their union, unions in general, and anything else that seems a likely candidate to be painted with a share of the blame.

Sigh.

Weekend

Our past weekend was most enjoyable.

Saturday we enjoyed Serdic and Singer's hospitality. Oh my God, the food. Good friends and good times and so, so, so much food. It was a blast, and greatly helped to set me into the Christmas spirit.

Sunday we visited with Dougly and the CBC, J&M, and Izzy & Wayne. Presents were exchanged, an excellent feast of turkey and squash soup was consumed, a very entertaining little lady kept us ... well ... entertained, and then we played a game I had received as a gift, entitled Man Law & Woman Rules. It was greatly enjoyable (although you learn things about your friends, playing that game).

All in all, quite a lot of fun.

Politics

Don't even get me started.

Winter

We have received a heavy walloping of snow, the past few days. I have done my share of freezing my ass in the cold waiting for busses and shovelling snow (although, it must be pointed out, not as much of the latter as my lovely wife has).

I do not approve of winter.

Beer

I do approve of beer.
