This Is Not My Food

Television

Watching TV, since my lovely wife is working and I'm bored.

I was watching Stargate season 4 commentary tracks but I've caught up to where my lovely wife and I were (we're watching that season currently), so I had to stop. So I caught a little bit of West Wing (awesome). Then I watched an episode of Doctor Who, which was surprisingly good, and now I'm watching an episode of Heroes, and kinda hating it.

Not sure what it is. The writing isn't great. The way it's shot and presented is goofy as hell. The story is really not engaging -- it's actually pretty pedestrian. Granted, maybe it's different when you watch more than one, but right now I'm not inclined to give it another chance.

Arby's

On the way back from camping we stopped in at Arby's in Kingston. Why don't we get to have an Arby's in Ottawa? Who can I send my petition to in order to have this gross oversight corrected?

Camping

As implied by the last point (I'm being non-sequential here, it happens when I'm distracted by TV), we went camping this weekend, along with Dougly and the CBC, The Rocket and TeamHooking, and a number of others. It was a blast. I drank beer and lit things on fire.

There was a certain amount of fireside storytelling. The CBC Tales were discussed, and the incidents in which the Rocket earned his name, and why TeamHooking likes throwing bread at me, and at others.

There were pancakes and bacon, a long hike that I predictably didn't partake of, and lots of good times. I hereby judge the fifth annual fall camping expedition a success.

Blogging Drought

There's not a whole lot of blogging going on out there in the deep wild. I blame the summer. Blogging always picks up when people have more time on their hands.

I can't point fingers, though. I'm a serious offender myself.

Heroes

Daniel Jackson's father in law was just on Heroes. I couldn't help but think that Stargate is so much better than this stuff.

Civ 4

Did I mention that there's a new expansion for Civ 4? It's pretty awesome. It fits the general Civ 4 pattern of "more of the same", but when the 'same' in question is awesome, that's not a bad thing.

Heh

I wish I had a robot.

Where do I go to sign the Arby's petition? Ottawa is severely lacking.

The new Civ IV expansion is seriously compromising my life. Perhaps ten-hours of it during the work day is too much of a good thing?

Nah.
