And One For My Homies

Busy

Super busy. What else is new?

Spring has Spranged

Good weather seems to be at hand. The weather is warm, the sun is shining, skirts are getting shorter and my car has a hole in its roof. Awesome.

Various Stuff

My martial arts school has expanded its schedule with classes every day (except Sunday). This pleases me.

Did I mention beer is good? Because it is.

Did I mention windows sucks? 'Disable track pad while typing', assholes. Apple had it ten years ago so it's about time you stole it.

Never buy from FTD. They couldn't find their asshole with both hands and a map.

My second monitor died. I'm stuck with just one until I get a replacement from my brother. I really like having two monitors. Not having it is inconvenient.

One door closes, another falls off its hinges

A good friend of mine, the Partner in Crime, is leaving Ottawa, for entirely understandable reasons I must admit. Regardless, this is unfortunate, and leaves me saddened, as he is a good friend.

On a purely logistical level it also presents a problem as he is one of the Vampire regulars. Fortunately we have been able to recruit more of a solid player base lately and UpCoder and Prime are both getting more into the game, building their collections and designing new decks, so the game won't be crippled by his leaving.

Even more fortunately we may have already found a new player to round out our five. I haven't settled on a soubriquet for her yet; best to wait and see if she sticks.

Hockey

I suppose I'm happy that the Pens lost, but now Montreal is still in it. Much more disconcerting, Philly hasn't collapsed yet. Perhaps the Almighty is just priming that accursed city for a more crushing blow when they get almost to the golden ring before being remorselessly crushed.

I keep reading stories about how a team is coming back to Winnipeg, but I'll believe it when I see it. I think Bettman has to die in a horrible gay erotic-asphyxiation accident before a team can come to Canada. I'd love to be wrong about that. Well, the bit about a team coming to Canada, anyway.

Television

My lovely wife is watching Star Trek: DS9 with me. She trusts me when I tell her that it does get much better. This is fortunate.

Games

Played some board games with The Scientist and TOEngineer recently. Broke out the copy of Wasabi! that they kindly gave me. Fun game although I was quite profoundly sleepy and not all there, so I lost pretty badly. Good times though.

And, Finally, Congratulations Are Due

Congrats to Dougly and the CBC on the birth of their progeny, named after a popular Star Wars character. Mom and dad are doing well. Woohoo!

Edit: One More Thing

For reference purposes.
