At Least Three Different Things

1. Olympic Thoughts

There is a difference between thinking that a thing is important, and a thing being important to you because someone in whom you have an emotional investment is doing it.

When we did the CN Tower Climb, there was a guy there with Cerebral Palsy or something similar who managed to make it up. That's pretty incredible, and, you know, good for him, but it doesn't really impact my life in any way. The fact that Serdic did the CN Tower Climb, though, was much more meaningful for me, because he's my friend and I have an appreciation of what it took for him to get up there, and what it meant for him to get up there.

That's about all I have to say about that.

2. Camping

We went camping with a huge boatload of people. You know who you are. It was a hell of a lot of fun.

Okay, the bit where a guy yelled at me and threatened to beat me up wasn't really fun, per se, but it just gets added into the fabled lore of the Annual Camping Trip, taking its place in those hallowed halls of memory beside the Friend Who Invited Herself On An Entire Vacation, or the Waterfront Property Incident (and the related Hapless Idiot Park Ranger Who Didn't Know When To Shut Up).

Good times.

Anyway. I'm stinky and tired and looking forward to sleeping in my own bed, but greatly enjoyed hanging out with everyone (veteran campers and relative newbies alike) and overall got treated much better by the weather than I was expecting.
