Camping this weekend, this time up near Trenton. Quite a lovely little campsite, and practically deserted too. Our site was well screened by trees to either side but opened up onto a tree-covered valley along the back. Lots of privacy and a hell of a view.
Saturday morning we were greeted by the mother of all thunderstorms. Rain and wind fit to take the tent with it, and non-stop thunder and lightning rolling right over us. Hell of a thing.
Fortunately between steady breezes and warm weather, the tent was bone dry when we went to pack up.
Before we headed back on Sunday my lovely wife and I went out with her mom to visit Brittannia, a pub of some renown out Trenton way. This place has been given quite a reputation by the stories from various members of my lovely wife's family, and I have to say, it did not disappoint.
Also, we brought back a pair of steak and kidney pies from their takeout section, one of which I ate for lunch today. I have to say it was the best such pie I can remember eating. And I do like my kidney, so that's not small praise. Mmmmmmm.
I got rained on today, walking home from work, but then my lovely wife picked me up en route and we went for Blizzards. She's awesome like that.
