Pow! Bam! Kaboom!

Weekend

This weekend was my lovely wife's birthday and the old man's birthday, so we were in K-town, checking out the parental units' new trailer. Among the highlights of a great weekend were some good camping (noisy drunk teens notwithstanding), an orchestral show at Fort Henry (you haven't heard the 1812 Overture until you've heard it with actual cannon and fireworks), and a boat tour of the Thousand Islands.

This was also the weekend when my parental units were informed of my driving proclivities. That's right, the secret is out -- though I have been a lifelong avid pedestrian, I am now joining the ranks of the licensed, sanctioned motorists. I even drove all the way to K-town to prove it.

Just in time for gas to hit $400 a barrel and make personal transportation a vague memory of better times.

The Greek

I totally wanted to call up the Greek and tell him about that. "Dude! I drove to Kingston! Nobody died!" Except that he's on holiday, so, no dice.

We got a postcard from him and Ladybug today. It's very cool. As all of us who are following their blog can see, they're having a blast, but all the same, I'm looking forward to having them back with us.

And also, today is the Greek's birthday. Happy birthday!

(The fact that the Greek, my lovely wife, and the Old Man all have a birthday within a day of each other tells me one important thing -- the mathematical discipline of statistics and probabilities is totally bullshit, man.)

Serdic has some news on his blog. I really can't tell you how exciting that is.

It's super exciting, that's how exciting it is.

I laughed for 20 minutes watching that - even after it was turned off.

It was kind of scary, to tell you the truth.
