I'm sick. Well, I'm almost over it, but it took its sweet time.
The trip to Calgary wasn't so great, due to aforementioned illness. My sinuses were stopped up and the flight out there screwed up my ears. That, plus some allergies thrown into the mix, added up to an unpleasant week overall.
We flew back with Westjet, and I have to say, what a bunch of muppets. Our flight was 90 minutes late because, and I quote, lots of flights coming back from the oil patch around dinner time. Is this not predictable? Can this not be scheduled around? If such a feat of scheduling is beyond the Westjet braintrust, then why on Earth are you advertising flights at 6pm when you can't deliver that service? And not even a complimentary beverage to say sorry.
Also, not to get all ranty (too late), but Calgary needs to seriously invest in some snow removal equipment. Buying even one snowplough would be a good start. Eight inches gets dumped on the roads and three days later it's still there. "Oh, we don't need 'em, a chinook will come through in a few days." Seriously, guys, come on. And why do you put up with having to shovel your own sidewalks? I pay less taxes than you do and somebody from the city does that for me. Calgary, what the hell.
The new triplets, however, were great. They're a bunch of cuties. I got pictures for them who are interested. Worth the trip.
In other news, I've embarked upon an inventory of our books. It'll be a useful thing to have. Maybe I ought to start a pool to see if anybody can guess what the final tally is going to be.
And finally, a video.
