Sad Things Make Sad Cat Sad

The Twenty First Century

My lovely wife's cell phone battery was on its way out. Well, worse than that. It had already propped open the door and was crawling out onto the porch, dragging its feeble, half-paralyzed self like the Terminator after the metal press. So she decided to go big, and bought herself a sexy ruby-red Blackberry Curve.

She's been merrily adding in gtalk apps, contact information and ring-tones. (Her choice of ring-tone for my phone calls betrays a certain lack of seriousness, I think.) Soon she will be IMing from it and using the GPS and the Good Lord knows what else.

So, of course, I need one too.

Luckily, Telus is bringing out the iPhone in November. I'm already on the 'please send me more information' list. I want a white one.

iPhone!

In other tech-geek news, Sony has a new lineup of touchscreen ebook readers. Bigger screens, landscape mode, dictionary word lookup and 3G wireless. Sexy.

Not sexy enough to make it worth upgrading my own well-loved and much-used reader, but I'm excited about where these things are going.

Busy

Reorg at work. Crazy busy. Lots of opportunities. Exciting.

Cards

My sister is bringing a box of cards up to me for Thanksgiving. My other order, from Calgary, arrived today. Man, there will be good times to come.

Zendikar draft coming up. Whooah!

Travel

This weekend is Thanksgiving. I'm fucking off from work early on Friday. It's okay, my boss told me to.

The whole fam-damily is going to be there. Actually, I think I mentioned this already. Look, I have a headache, okay? Cut me some slack, Jack.

And Also

My lovely wife is making Ribs. In the slow-cooker.

She's exactly that awesome.
